SUMMARY
This story follows Tess, who is sent to work for distant relatives, the D'Urbervilles, in hopes of reclaimng fortune. Alec, the son of Mrs. D'Urbervilles, is attracted to Tess and tries to seduce her. After failed attempts, Alec takes advantage of Tess. Tess flees, and finds love with Angel. The story unfolds as she deals with new love, and the reappearance of her past.
